NJ NONPROFIT ANNOUNCES WINNER OF 50/50 RAFFLE AIMED TO HELP PROTECT ANIMALS OF ABUSE VICTIMS

 

Winner received over $2000 at Holiday Bazaar and Craft Fair Fundraiser

 

MONTVALE, NJ, NOVEMBER 25, 2013–Shelter Our Pets, a New Jersey nonprofit has announced the winner of the 50/50 raffle, sponsored by the GFWC Paskack Junior Woman’s Club.  The drawing was held on November 16th at Shelter Our Pets Holiday Bazaar and Craft Fair, Tice’s Senior Center in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey.  The winner, Rosemarie Costanzo, a resident of Jersey City won 50% of the total cash collected for raffle tickets sold, in the amount of $2060.  The other 50% of the cash collected for the raffle was donated to Shelter Our Pets by the GFWC Paskack Junior Woman’s Club.

 

The Holiday Bazaar and Craft Fair held on November 16th at the Tice’s Senior Center in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey was hosted  in conjunction with GFWC Paskack Junior Woman’s Club. Funds raised will be used to support Shelter Our Pets’ foster care program. The event featured a collaboration of over 20 local crafters and artisans including Margaret O’Hara, The Laizy Daizy, Aunt Vicky’s Bickies, Just Jenny’s Love, Anne Woodman Jewelry Design and Wild Eclectica to name a few. The event also featured a bake sale table which was organized and run by River Vale resident Diana Smartenko and Pascack Valley High School students Lauren Smartenko and Mollie Reich.

 

The bazaar attracted numerous holiday shoppers offering a wide array of products from jewelry, artwork, crafts and home decorations. “We held this bazaar with the purpose of raising funds and spreading word about Shelter Our Pets’ mission,” said Co-Founder and President Lynn Gregorski. “We’re also hoping to continue to strengthen our relationship with these talented crafters and artisans for future events.”

 

“I think this is a very good cause because a lot of animals out there are in need of shelters,” said winner Rosemarie Costanzo. “My daughter is a cat lover, I am a cat lover – we’re cat people! I can’t believe I won because I never win anything.”

 

Shelter Our Pets is a New Jersey-based, all-volunteer nonprofit with the mission to provide temporary shelter for the pets of victims of domestic violence who are fleeing their abusive situations.  Shelter Our Pets provides a specialized service, offering loving care and shelter to pets of abuse victims, either with a foster family or at an area kennel, until they can be reunited with their owners.   The organization’s long term vision is to create housing where abuse survivors can reside with their pets while they rebuild their lives.
