Janice Varandas

Vice President

Hi! I grew up in a show dog family and trained to be a junior handler Since I was 5, I’ve
worked with dogs, and at 9 started working with horses. I have rescued two abused
dogs and through time, love, and patience trained and transformed the dogs into loving
and trusting family dogs; also rescued a severely abused horse and transformed him
into a loving pet that I was gifted to have until he was 45 years old! I currently have 3
dogs, 2 horses, and a goldfish.
I started volunteering as a teenager. I’ve participated and led many fund raisers for
animal shelters, veteran, and cancer organizations. I’m from a military family and have
a special place in my heart for veterans. I’ve been an evaluator for The Bright and
Beautiful Therapy Dogs and an AKC CGC evaluator for over 10 years.
Professionally, I am currently retired and was an Associate Director for a
biotech/pharmaceutical company. I have over 40 years of IT experience with 30 years in
management and leadership. My education level is a Master of Science in Technology
Management from Stevens Institute of Technology.
