Sgt. Gidget Petry

Gidget Petry is a Detective Sergeant with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department assigned to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Intelligence and Counterterrorism. Gidget also works with the Bergen County Office of Emergency Management as the Director of the Bergen County Animal Response Team (CART).  Her support of Shelter Our Pets and expertise of caring for animals in disaster situations made her an outstanding candidate for the Presidency.

Petry’s experience with both Emergency Management and animals is vast. After over 10 years assigned to the Bergen County Office of Emergency Management, she was promoted in 2014 and moved back to Patrol Operations.  Petry currently acts as the Director of the Bergen County Animal Response Team and has trained over 12,000 volunteers for emergency response in Bergen County during her stay in Emergency Management and continues to train CART volunteers for emergency response for animals in disasters. In addition to Petry’s many accomplishments, she is also certified as an Animal Control Officer and an Animal Cruelty Investigator.
